With primary and school board elections fast approaching, Clay County residents are running out of time to register to vote.
April 3 is the last day to register to participate in the May 2006 primary elections. County residents can register at the Clay County Election Office on the second floor of the courthouse or at BMV branches in Brazil and Clay City.
Voter registration re-quires a photo ID.
Absentee voting for the primaries will begin April 3 and ends at noon on May 1. Hours for absentee voting are 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the clerk's office. The office will be open on two Saturdays prior to the election, April 22 and April 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (use the east entrance to the courthouse on those two days).
