The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will begin its 2006 season with rehearsal on Tuesday, May 16 at North Clay Middle School at 7 p.m. for the first concert set June 4th at 8 p.m.
The 148-year old band is a proud recipient of the 2006 Sudler Silver Scroll Historic Band Award from the John Philip Sousa Foundation. A special ceremony and concert honoring the BCB will take place at the second concert of the season, June 11 at 7:30 p.m., with guest conductors and Sousa officials.
Membership in the 75-member community band is open to talented adult musicians and qualified high school band members. The music is challenging and a new concert is presented each Sunday.

In addition to the 13 Sunday evening concerts June, July and August, the BCB will perform in Gosport, Ind., on June 24, DePauw University in Greencastle July 11th and the Terre Haute Scottish Nov. 19th.
