Around 8 a.m. Friday, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Pierce responded to a 911 call reporting an accident just north of N. C.R. 1100 W. on N. C.R. 300 W.

Sarah R. Sisk, 19, of Center Point, said she slid into the road while pulling out of a dew-covered hilltop driveway when Antonio R. Caughlin, 17, of Brazil, crested the hill on the road, heading south. To avoid a collision, he swerved his Chevy S10 and left the road on the west side. He traveled more than 150 feet in a ditch before hitting a culvert causing extensive damage to the front end of the truck.

Caughlin and his passenger, Nick Hughbanks, 16, were injured in the accident. Caughlin was treated on the scene for facial injuries but refused transfer to a hospital. Hughbanks also sustained facial injuries, and according to officials on the scene, had four teeth knocked out during the accident. He was taken to St. Vincent Clay Hospital by Trans-Care.
