Top: Joseph Koch of Brazil presents Andrew Cullen with a Christmas card his father-in-law, John Handlin, received from the Bayh family in 1960. Handlin met Sen. Birch Bayh when both attended meetings of the Vigo County chapter of Farm Bureau.

Koch asked Cullen to pass the card on to Sen. Evan Bayh, who lost much of his collection of family memorabilia in a fire several years ago.

Bottom: Koch displays the Christmas card with a portrait of the Bayh family (Birch, Marvella and a freckle-faced, teenage Evan).

Andrew Cullen, Senator Evan Bayh's regional director for southwestern Indiana, responded to the questions and concerns of several of Bayh's Brazil-area constituents at Brazil City Hall last week. Cullen held forth with area residents on a wide range of topics-- social security, oil dependence, potential nominees for the 2008 presidential election-- during the visit, which marked another stop on Bayh's "Traveling Office Hours" initiative.
