Police pursue Terre Haute bank robbery suspect

Shortly before 10 a.m. Friday, Indiana State Police reported an armed robbery at the First Financial Bank Spring Hill branch in Terre Haute.

Clay County authorities were notified in case the suspect was seen in this area.

According to the Indiana State Police, the suspect walked up to a bank teller and produced a note that stated he had a gun and wasn't afraid to use it. It also stated that he wanted money.

After obtaining a black zippered bag of cash from the teller, the suspect fled on foot.

Officers from the FBI, Vigo County Sheriff's Department, Terre Haute Police Department and Indiana State Police searched the vicinity of the bank, but were unable to find the suspect.

The suspect is described as a dark complected black male, 20-30 years old, 6' to 6'2" wearing a dark blue jacket with a white zipper and gray liner in the hood.

The suspect appears on a surveillance wearing a white baseball cap with the green letters "TKB" (possibly Greek letters representing Tau Kappa Beta fraternity) trimmed in gold on the front of the hat.

State police said the weapon was not displayed, but "inferred."
