At tonight's Special Session of the Clay Community School Board of Trustees meeting, Board members will discuss options of creating new positions and review current job descriptions at Central Office.
"Some of these job descriptions have not been updated for several years," Board President Steve Grigsby told The Brazil Times. "Many are not accurate in relationship to the current level of responsibilities the personnel in these positions are providing at the Central Office."
The Board feels this shift in job responsibilities should be reflected in the current job descriptions, but this is a process that will not be completed in just one meeting, according to Grigsby.
He said the Board will not take action to hire any new personnel at this meeting.
This is contrary to rumors that a Board member would assume the vacant superintendent's position at the meeting.
"I am not a candidate for the superintendency, nor do I plan to be," Grigsby said.
Immediately after the Special Session, the board members will interview candidates for the superintendent's position.
An announcement regarding a selection could be made anytime this summer. The Board is hopeful it will be before the start of the new school year in August.
The public is invited to attend the Special Session at 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center of North Clay Middle School.
