One still listed in critical condition after Saturday evening accident

Around 8:25 p.m. Saturday, Clay County Sheriff's Department Sergeant Dan Best responded to 911 call reporting a two vehicle accident at C.R. 200 E. and C.R. 1350 N. involving a motorcycle.

According to the press release by the Clay County Sheriff's Department, details are limited because the accident is under investigation.

The document did list Ethan R Jensen,16, of Brazil, and an unidentified passenger, being involved in a collision with a motorcycle driven by John H. Shaffer Jr., 48.

Shaffer and passenger Mary R. Hatfield, 45, both of Carbon, were both flown via Air-Evac Helicopter to Wishard Hospital because of injuries sustained in the accident.

At the time of the press release, Shaffer was listed in stable condition, while Hatfield was listed in critical condition in Intensive Care.

Members of the Carbon Town Marshal's Office, Air-Evac, Trans-Care Ambulance, Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department, Clay County Search and Rescue and Poor Boys Wrecker Service assisted at the scene.
