New supt. expected to attend meeting

The Clay Community School Board of Trustees will be busy getting its house in order in preparation of the upcoming school year at tonight's meeting.

Returning board members Terry Barr and Ted Jackson and new board member Brian Atkinson will be sworn into office. The board will then hold nominations to elect new board officers for the 2006/07 school year.

The newly-structured board will appoint the positions of treasurer, deputy treasurer and corporation attorney, approve employee bonds, appoint a board member to the bid opening committee and establish the schedule of meeting times and dates for the upcoming school year calendar all before the call to order.

The new superintendent of Clay Community Schools, Dr. Dan Schroeder, is expected to attend the meeting.

Items of public interest on the agenda include:

- A recommendation to approve the textbook rental, class fees and the school breakfast and lunch fees for the 2006/07 school year.

- A recommendation to adopt changes to Northview High School Athletic Handbook.

- Discussion of coaching positions affected by past budget restraints.

- Discussion concerning the increasing transportation costs on Extra-Curricular Activities.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center of the North Clay Middle School.
