2006 fair queen to be chosen Saturday

Eleven ladies will be vying for the 2006 Clay County Queen title and the opportunity to represent Clay County at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 20th. The newly crowned queen will assist the Clay County 4-H Fair by being an official representative of the fair, passing out ribbons to winners, assisting judges and various other duties. The pageant will take place Saturday, July 15th, at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend with a free will donation at the door.

The following young ladies will be competing:

- Ashley Renae Clarke, 16, will be a freshman at Northview High School this fall. She is being sponsored by Advantage Construction and is the daughter of Rod and Elaine Clarke

- Briana Daree Guerrettaz, 16, is the daughter of Mike and Gwendolyn Guerrettaz. Briana will be a junior at Northview High School and is being sponsored by Gwendolyn Guerrettaz and Captain Mark Woodsmall.

- Ashlynn Elizabeth Hauser, 17, is the daughter of Blaine and Cindy Keene. This fall she will be a senior at Shakamak High School and is being sponsored by A & W.

- Tawnee Lee Hayden, 18, will be a senior at Clay City High School this fall. She is being sponsored by Little Angel's Daycare and is the daughter of Tim Hayden and Bee Gee Hayden.

- Brittany Renee Jones, 18, is being sponsored by Rodney Brown Seed Farm and will be a freshman at Purdue University this fall. She is the daughter of Richard and Tonya Jones.

- Rylee Cecelia Myers,16, is the daughter of Ken and Tracy Myers. She will be a junior at Northview High School in the fall and is being sponsored by Melissa Medearis.

- Jacqueline Nichole Sands, 17, will be a senior at Clay City High School this fall and is the daughter of Jerry and Ginger Sands who is also her sponsor.

- Danielle Marie Steiner, 19, is the daughter of Bret and DeAnna Steiner. She will be a sophomore at Indiana State University this fall and is being sponsored by Jim Smith Finish Carpentry.

- Larissa Anne Staley, 18, will be a freshman at Purdue University this fall. She is the daughter of Randy and Nancy Staley and is being sponsored by Miller's IGA.

- Katie Joan Timberman, 17, is the daughter of Kevin and Lisa Timberman and is being sponsored by Duke Energy. Katie will be a junior at Northview High School this fall.

- Kayla Dianea Withrow, 16, is the daughter of Bryan and Angie Withrow. Kayla will be a junior at Clay City Jr/Sr. High School this fall and is being sponsored by Six Points Trading Post.
