There were no major injuries after a motorist drove their car off into a ditch late Saturday evening.
Around 9 p.m., a 911 call to dispatchers reported a car had left the roadway and was at the bottom of a ditch in the area of 11400 N. C.R. 350 E.
Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Jerry Siddons said an unknown medical condition (possibly a stroke or heart attack) caused an unidentified man traveling south on CR 350 E to lose consciousness and drive his Chevrolet Cavalier off the road and down more than 75 feet to the bottom.
It took more than an hour to remove the car from the ditch.
"A neighbor up the road saw it happen and came to help the man out of the car," Siddons said. "He was taken to the hospital by local family members before my arrival. They said he was awake, but couldn't remember the accident."
