The Brazil City Police Department has received a complaint from an elderly woman that a male had called her residence and advised her that her next Social Security check would be less than the amount of money she was owed.

The male asked that she give him her checking account number so that the missing money could be deposited.

It is highly recommended that you never give any information such as your checking account number, social security number, or any information that could be used to steal your identity, said Brazil Police Det. Martin Beasley.
