An early morning arrest by the Vigo County Sheriff's Department Friday led to the arrest of two Clay County men on various drug charges and the destruction of materials for two possible meth labs by the Clay County Sheriff's Department later that evening.
Lonnie Walls, 6997 W. U.S. 40, Brazil was arrested for possession of stolen property by Vigo County Sheriff's Department Detective Lt. Tim Gossett. He told officials the generator he was trying to sell was given to him by his neighbors Rickey Lee O'Neal and Galen "Dale" Boyll.
The Clay County Sheriff's Department arranged for two search warrants from the information provided by Walls.
O'Neal lives at 7424 N. Private Road 699 W. and Boyll lives in a barn located between O'Neal and Walls' homes. All three lived in rental property in the same neighborhood just south of the U.S. 40/340 East intersection.
While searching the property, deputies and members of the Clay City Police Department located materials associated with meth labs. This stopped the initial search warrant proceedings, according to Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton.
"Our initial warrants were to look for stolen property. We had to wait on new warrants to look for drug related items," Heaton said. "Then we had to wait on a drug dog to continue looking for other types of drugs and lab materials."
While officers secured the scene, a Vigo County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit was requested to search the scene when the warrants arrived.
Three more search warrants were obtained for all three residences around 8 p.m. After completion of the search warrants two men were arrested.
Galen Dale Boyll, 43, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing Methamphetamine, possession of Methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Boyll was taken to the Clay County Justice Center without incident and is awaiting arraignment with a $25,000 cash bond.
Rickey Lee O'Neal, 49, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing Methamphetamine, possession of Methamphetamine, possession of a precursor, possession of paraphernalia and illegal possession of Anhydrous Ammonia. O'Neal was also taken to the Clay County Justice Center to await arraignment with a $25,000 cash bond.
Lonnie Robert Walls, 39, was arrested by Vigo County Sheriff's Department on preliminary charges of receiving stolen property and resisting law enforcement. He is the Vigo County Jail awaiting arraignment without bond.
Members of the Indiana State Police Meth Lab were called to destroy the meth lab materials discovered and clean the area.
