July has ended and teachers across the county are preparing for the new school year.
Teachers at Annunciation Angels Preschool are getting ready for the new group of children to partake in the first full year of the newly named non-denominational preschool.
Kennedy's Crossing Preschool had been around for about 20 years until last year when it moved to its new location near Brazil's Annunciation Church, 19 N. Alabama.
The preschool's name was changed last December to fit the location.
Administrative Pastoral Associate Marsha Bialaszewski, Ph.D., teacher Nancy Trout and assistant teacher Jane Osborn have filled four rooms in the building for the children's use. The rooms include a classroom, a playroom, a library and a room used for messy projects, not to mention an outside fenced-in play area.
The daily itinerary for students starts with indoor play, class time with worksheets and learning the ABCs, counting and D'Nealian Handwriting, crafts/art, library time and a snack.
Children ages 4-5 attend on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and can be enrolled in the morning class from 8:45 - 11:15 a.m. or the afternoon class from 12 - 2:30 p.m. Registration is $50, and the monthly tuition is $87. Children in this class are prepared for kindergarten.
Children age 3-4 attend on Tuesday and Thursday, and can be enrolled into either the morning class from 9 - 11 a.m. or the afternoon class from noon - 2 p.m. Registration is $50, and the monthly tuition is $72.
Each month a newsletter and calendar are sent home to the student's parents to keep them involved with what is going on with the school.
Children can be enrolled at anytime during the school year.
The preschool follows the Clay Community Schools calendar.
