Details surrounding the Clay City Police Department's investigation into a weekend motorcycle accident remain sketchy and the medical conditions of the three victims have not been released.

Around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, dispatchers received a 911-call concerning an accident involving a motorcycle and two girls, ages 5 and 13.

Clay City Police Chief Terry Skaggs was dispatched to a residence west of Clay City on S.R. 246.

"A young man was riding a (motorcycle or dirt bike) when he hit a hole in the road and lost control," Skaggs said Monday. "The out-of-control bike then hit two young girls walking close by."

Both children were transported to an Indianapolis hospital. The extent of the girls' and the motorcycle rider's injuries were not available at press time.

Police had not released the names of the three persons as of this morning.
