The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, presents "Grand Finale 2006" Sunday, Aug. 27th, at the Forest Park Bandshell or Pavilion if rain.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include an intermission.
The Sudler Award winning Brazil Concert Band will perform the march from "William Tell Overture" by Rossini and the finale from "Overture 1812" by Tschaikowsky.
"Second Suite in F" by Gustav Holst will be played with its "March", "Song Without Words", "Song of the Blacksmith" and "Fantasia on the Dargason".
Bandsman Norman Hanson will solo on the euphonium in Buckley's "An American Portrait".
The Broadway selection will be "Damn Yankees" arranged by Yoder.
March lovers will enjoy two Karl L. King classics "Robinson's Grand Entree" and "L.S.U. Tiger Triumph".
The BCB will present "A Slavic Farewell" edited by Col. John R. Bourgeois, "American Patrol" by Frank Meacham and close with "The Stars and Stripes Forever" by Lt. Commander John Philip Sousa.
Many members of the BCB also play in the Jackson Township Community Band which performs throughout September. Dates include Clinton Little Italy Festival Sept 1st, Hymera Seafood Festival Sept. 9th, Center Point Sesquicentennial Sept. 16th and Brazil Kiwanis Day Parade Sept. 23rd.
The Brazil Concert Band's annual Scottish Rite performance is on Nov.19th at 3 p.m.
