A busy service station entrance may have been a factor in a two-car accident Friday evening.

Catherine Marrin, 55, of Upper Montclaire, N.J., was leaving the Pilot Travel Center in her mini-van, turning south shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday when two semi-tractor trailers pulling into the gas station blocked her view, according to the accident report filed by Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Frazier.

Unaware there were two lanes of traffic, Marrin pulled out in front of a northbound automobile driven by Pamela Martin, 51, of Farmersburg.

Marrin was partially trapped after the driver's side impact, but emergency response personnel from Clay County Search and Rescue, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department and Trans-Care were able to free her without using any equipment.

Although four individuals -- both drivers and two unidentified passengers in Martin's vehicle -- sustained minor injuries during the accident, they refused treatment and no one was transported to the hospital, according to Deputy Frazier.
