Officials announced late Monday evening there will be an investigation into the structure fire at Lower Bloomington Road and C. R. 200 N.

Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton said the Indiana State Fire Marshall's Office has been notified because "it was an abandoned building without any power."

Posey Volunteer Fire Department's Assistant Fire Chief Errett Miller was killed in a traffic accident while responding to assist Cory Volunteer Fire Department with the fire.

It was initially unclear what impact Miller's death would have on the fire investigation. Heaton said it could affect the charges a suspect may face if the fire is proven to be arson.
