A juvenile, suspected of turning in the recent bomb threat at Northview High School, was detained by the Clay County Sheriff's Department Wednesday afternoon after a second bomb threat attempt.
Around 2 p.m., Detective Jeff Maynard went to Northview High School to investigate the attempted bomb threat. A school official caught a juvenile in the act of trying to make another bomb threat to the school. After questioning, the juvenile was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention facility in Vincennes.
The case will be turned over to the Clay County Prosecutor's Office and the Juvenile Probation Department for review.
If charges are filed, the juvenile's case will be handled in Clay Circuit Court.
Further details will be limited because of the juvenile's age.
On Aug. 30, approximately 1,300 students and staff members from Northview were evacuated to the North Clay Middle School gymnasium because of an early morning bomb threat which turned out to be a hoax.
"Any type of threat that is conveyed to, or about, a school will be dealt with accordingly," Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton said. "We have to ensure the safety of our children."
