Members of the Brazil City Police and Fire Departments responded to a mishap on North Ashley Street involving a low utility line and a tall delivery truck shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday.

When Jon McCormick, of Indianapolis, attempted to make a delivery at American Rental, a low hanging overhead telephone line got stuck on the upper rim of his Dominican Freight delivery truck.

McCormick was not injured, but the large telephone line, which was pulled from a nearby utility pole, became lodged between the cab and the semi trailer.

Nearby homes lost power because three fuses on a utility pole in the Forest Park Plaza blew during the accident, but Duke Energy was able to remedy the problem within minutes of arriving on the scene.

Authorities were unsure how many customers lost telephone service due to the accident.
