Police seek information about attempted robbery

Friday, September 15, 2006

Brazil City Police Chief Mark Loudermilk is asking for your help in gathering information about a suspect involved in an attempted robbery at a local strip mall Thursday afternoon.

"If anyone has any information about this case they need to call us," he said in a telephone interview Thursday evening.

Around 2 p.m., a man entered First Cash Advance, at 1113 E. National Ave., and "hung around" to wait for the clerk to end a phone conversation, according to Loudermilk.

After briefly discussing a loan, the man demanded all the cash, but never showed a weapon. The scared clerk ran into the back of the building while the man ran out the front door shortly before 2:26 p.m.

The Brazil City Police Department has provided a description of the suspect as a male in his 20s with dark hair and a goatee; wearing a light-color ball cap and a dark colored sweatshirt.

To report information about this ongoing investigation, please call the Brazil City Police Dept. at 446-2211.
