Saturday will find the historic Rockville square bustling with the arrival of motorcycles, bikes and scooters for the 10th Annual Motorcycle, Scooter and Bicycle Show, sponsored by Main Street Rockville.
Registration will begin 8 a.m. with events kicking off at about 9 a.m. A $5 entry fee includes first entry with no charge for additional entries. All entries will be displayed on the east and south side of the square, and the south and east side of the courthouse lawn. Picnic tables will be available for those enjoying the hospitality of the day, and restaurants will be open for the convenience of visitors. Entertainment will be presented by the Dream Weavers. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
Several awards will be given in three categories with recipients receiving certificates at approximately 2:30 p.m. Other activities include recognition of clubs and riding groups, entertainment, and a 50/50 drawing.
Some previous entries in the motorcycle class were Gold Wing, Harley Davidson, Indian, Suzuki, BMW, and Victory. Bikes previously entered include Schwinn, Western Flyer and John Deere. And scooters highlighted in the past were Cushman, Doodle Bugs, Allstate, Salisbury and Agrilia.
The year for the first time, visitors and participants can enjoy a self-guided Covered Bridge Tour of Parke County. Maps will be available for those who wish to spend the remainder of the day checking out the historic Covered Bridges, including the newly erected Bridgeton Covered Bridge. Participants will start the optional tour at 3 p.m., and others at their leisure.
Shops on the historic Rockville Square will be open, as will other merchants in the town of Rockville.
