When you hear the words, "Big Ken Tucker and the Muffin Monsters", you can't help but smile. Now this local band really has something to smile about - they have signed to Jomar Records, an independent, international record label out of Jacksonville, Fla.

Members of the band, Ken Tucker - vocals and guitar, Ron Christensen - drums, and Jeff Archer - bass guitar have been playing together off-and-on for six years. They characterize their music as "electric blues" and have received radio play in Australia, the U.K., Canada, New Zealand and Tasmania.

Their CD, "Another Fine Mess" is set to be released in the next few months. The band collaborated on the project with producer Marshall Jones, who has worked with Gladys Knight and Sam and Dave.

The band will also be making a video, with television producer Steve Ward, to be released on the syndicated video program "Exit 16", in Seattle, Wash., and they hope the video will receive air play on VH-1 and MTV.

"Big Ken Tucker and the Muffin Monsters" will be on tour Sept. 29 - Oct. 10. They will appear at the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Ark., on the emerging artist stage and will play at "Blackmon's Plaza" in East St. Louis on Sept. 22-23.

"Another Fine Mess" will be available for purchase on the internet and in stores. Visit kentuckermusic.com to find out more information and to hear clips of the CD.
