A caucus has been called to officially replace Andy Thomas as the House District 44 legislator in the Indiana General Assembly.
His father, Amos Thomas, won a caucus vote when Andy announced he would not seek re-election. Andy resigned Aug. 31 to work in the Indiana Attorney General's office. So, another caucus has been called to fill the seat until the new legislator takes office in January.
The caucus is scheduled at 7 p.m., Thursday, in the Putnam County Courthouse Annex, 209 W. Liberty St., Greencastle. Sandi Huddleston will chair the meeting.
Amos Thomas was the only candidate to file as of Tuesday morning, according to Lindsay Jancek, Communications Director, House Republican Campaign Committee.
