The REIN Center Coalition is planning a Jonah Fish Fry at the Orange Building of Goshorn Park in Clay City on Friday, Oct. 6. from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The fish fry, in part, is a fundraiser to help build a community center in Clay City.

The coalition would like to have a food pantry, senior nutrition center, library, swimming pool, community room and an USDA approved kitchen within the center, but there are no exact plans as of yet.

The event is also to help keep the South Branch of the Brazil Public Library in Clay City open. As of now, the library is set to close on Sept. 30.

Meals will cost $7 for adults ($6.50 in advance) and $4 for children under 12 years old ($3.50 in advance). Carry-out and dessert options are available.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at four Clay City locations: First Financial Bank, First National Bank and Trust, the Clay City Pharmacy, the Clay City News Office and the South Branch of the Brazil Public Library (open Monday, Friday and Saturday until Sept. 30).

Three gift memberships to the Brazil Public Library in Brazil will also be drawn during the fish fry.
