Sheriff candidate has Web site

Friday, September 22, 2006

Independent Candidate for the Clay County Sheriff position, Larry Pierce, has put up a Web site and blog to reach out to the voters for the upcoming November election.

Potential voters can log onto and take a look at Pierce's qualifications and prior experience in law enforcement, which includes two terms as the Clay County Sheriff from 1991-1998.

Pierce is running against Republican incumbent Sheriff Michael Heaton and Clay County Detective Sgt. Robert Gambill, who defeated G. Steven Bell in the Democratic primary in May.

Pierce's site includes a letter to the voters in which he introduces himself and describes, in detail, his past accomplishments, how he has risen through the ranks and some of the policies he employed while he was sheriff and would employ again if elected.

Through the site, potential voters can register to vote, make a campaign contribution, and even visit a blog that Pierce has set up.

Pierce has also include links to the Indiana Sex Offender Registry, the Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Amber Alert, which he has a ticker of at the top of every page of the site.

Contact information for Larry Pierce can be accessed through the site
