An attorney from Indiana Legal Services will be taking applications for legal assistance at the Brazil YMCA at 225 E. Kruzan St. on the last Thursday of every month 1-3 p.m.
ILS is a non-profit law firm that provides high-quality legal advice and representation to low-income persons.
Households making less than 200 percent of the federal poverty level income and those over 60 years old are eligible for the free services ILS provides.
ILS handles cases regarding housing, public benefit, appealing Medicaid denials, divorce, child support/custody /guardianship, consumer rights, tax disputes, hardship driver's licenses, and income maintenance.
No applications will be taken during the month of December.
ILS recommends an appointment be made, but walk-in appointments are also welcomed.
