My name is Debbie James, and I am the Republican candidate for County Treasurer. I want to give you a little personal background information and also some of my duties as Chief Deputy Treasurer.

I am a life-long resident of Clay County. I graduated from Van Buren High School and attended Indiana State University. I have been married for 33 years to my husband Rick, and we have two children, Ashley and Grant. I have been the Chief Deputy Treasurer for 25 years, working with five different Treasurer's from both political parties. While serving as Chief Deputy, I have been actively involved with investing the county funds and the collection and settlement of real estate taxes. During my 25 years as Chief Deputy Treasurer, we have consistently received favorable audits from the State Board of Accounts on our numerous records.

I believe my 25 years of experience in the Treasurer's office is a great benefit to the county and qualifies me to be your next County Treasurer.
