In their own words ...Graham T. House candidate for Clay County Commissioner

I'm Graham T. House, Democratic candidate for Clay County Commissioner. I'm the second oldest son of the late James House and Mary Wright, who still resides in Brazil. I'm a 1970 graduate of Shakamak High School, a lifelong resident of Clay County. I married Marcella Lucas, the daughter of the late Harley and Genevieve Lucas of Clay City.

I'll soon have 30 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator through Union Local 841. If elected I plan to retire and devote my time as Commissioner.

Some of my concerns include;

Industry: I would like to have a good working relationship with city and county officials and work to bring top-paying manufacturers to Clay County, essential to the counties development.

Law Enforcement: With rising crime throughout the county, I would like to see a few more deputies hired for the protection of the citizens of Clay County and the safety of our law enforcement.

County Roads: I will work to have an extensive ditching program cleaning ditches and removing berms between roads and ditches which is critical to the road conditions, being the cheapest form of road maintenance.

I promise to answer all calls and do my best to take care of the situation. We are privileged to have the right to vote and I urge everyone to go and exercise that right Nov. 7 regardless of political preference. Your vote of conscience and support will be deeply appreciated.
