Last week, both the Indiana Manufacturers Association (IMA) and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce endorsed Amos Thomas (R-Brazil) for the election to the Indiana House of Representatives, District 44.
"Amos Thomas will bring to the legislature an enormous wealth of business and life experience and a vision of future growth for the State of Indiana," IMA President Pat Kielty said.
House District 44 includes Putnam County, northern Clay County and parts of Parke and Vigo counties.
"Rep. Thomas will work hard to sustain economic growth and improve the quality of life for constituents in those counties," Michael Davis, vice president of political affairs for the Indiana Chamber, said. "His legal expertise and business experience allow him to fully understand the needs of business and uniqely qualify him for this position."
Rep. Thomas graduated from the Indiana University School of Law and owns a Brazil law firm with his brother. He currently resides with his wife in Brazil and has been an active member in several community organizations, including 50 years with the Brazil Rotary.
