MANSFIELD -- Visitors to the Mansfield Watermelon Festival are invited to add a touch of art to the experience by heading to the Historic Mansfield Roller Mill to take part in creating a commemorative craft for the event.
To view a full listing of activities planned for the weekend, see www.mansfieldhilltopfarm.com.
Interpreters will be on hand throughout the day to give tours of the mill, which is an example of an 1880s flour mill, containing three floors of mostly original machinery.
It stands as a reminder of the beginnings of automation and mass production, which marked the American Industrial Revolution.
The mill is managed by Raccoon State Recreation Area, DNR Division of State Parks and Reservoirs. It is located in Mansfield, just off of State Road 59, six miles south of United States 36. The days of operation are Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
