Lola Margaret "Peg" Hardman Parrish, 88, Greencastle, formerly of Cloverland, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Putnam County Hospital.

Born July 5, 1919, in Cloverland, she was the daughter of William Martin and Blanche Kauble Hardman.

She married Robert Joseph Parrish on Sept. 14, 1938.

She was a member of the Christian Church in Brazil when she was a child. She attended the Church of God in Greencastle until her husband's health declined.

She worked for the Fobes family and took care of their children and did day work for families in the Greencastle area. She also worked at her son-in-law's restaurant in Belle Union, Floyd's Place.

Upon retirement, she lived in the Belle Union area until her husband's death, when she moved to Greencastle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Parrish; parents, William Martin Hardman and Blanche Kauble Hardman; three sisters, Agnes Lavern Hardman, who died in infancy, Virginia "Jo" Neeld, and Juanita Hardman Wolff; three brothers, George, James and William "Bill" Hardman; step-son, William Eugene Parrish; step-son-in-law, Albert Floyd O'Neal Sr.; three grandchildren, Albert Floyd "Bud" O'Neal Jr., Judy Ann O'Neal, and VaLinda Jean Parrish Levitt.

She is survived by step-son Robert Franklin Parrish Sr. and wife Geneva Rose, Indianapolis; step-daughters Florence Jean Parrish Eveland and husband Marion M. "Sarge," Knightsville, Retta Maxine Parrish O'Neal, Greencastle, step-daughter-in-law Nevella Jane Crawley Parrish, Greencastle; sister-in-law Elizabeth Hardman, Brazil; eight grandchildren, Sandra K. Eveland Jenkins, Carbon, Diane L. Parrish Stepp, Winchester, Ky., Marion M. Eveland III, Vincennes, Janis Fay Parrish Reinhard, Bradenton, Fla., Sharon L. Parrish Black, Indianapolis, William Michael Parrish, Greencastle, Mark A. O'Neal, Mt. Meridian, and Robert Franklin "Robbie" Parrish, Indianapolis; 20 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Private services will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, at a later date. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle.
