Knights' tennis falls in WIC match

NASHVILLE -- Northview made the long trip to Nashville, Ind. only to have the host Brown County Eagles hang a 3-2 tennis defeat on the Knights in the conference opener.

The Eagles were able to win straight set matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and then got a three set victory at No. 2 doubles to score the victory.

Ryne Barr teamed with Matt Nodley to win a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles against Ryan Crum and Andrew Lockhall of the Eagles. Clint Reynolds also won for the Knights, taking a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 marathon win.

Austin Akers lost in two sets to Tanner Freyshour, 2-6, 2-6 and at No. 2 singles, Brock Lawson dropped a 3-6, 2-6 match.

In doubles, Craig Davies and Jesse Fettig won a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 match against Northview's Trent Sims and Carson Kleiber.

The Knights had a great deal more success in the junior varsity matches, winning four singles matches and taking both doubles matches as well.

Northview will play host to White River Valley this evening at 5 p.m.
