Eels split pair of volleyball matches at West Vigo Invitational

WEST TERRE HAUTE -- The Clay City Eels suffered their first volleyball loss of the season while playing in the West Vigo Invitational on Saturday.

The Eels picked up a 25-11, 23-25, 15-12 win in their opening match versus North Knox that advanced them to a championship match against West Vigo.

The Eels ran out of steam in the second game dropping a title game decision to the host Vikings, 19-25, 18-25.

In the first match, Angie Camp had six kills and three aces with teammate Megan Vansickle contributing three aces, four kills and four blocks.

In the championship game, Camp added nine more kills with Britney Glass adding five blocks and two kills and Vansickle blocking six Viking shots.

The Eels (3-1 overall) will travel to Linton for a conference battle on Tuesday night beginning at 6 p.m.
