Dorothy Leona Parr Harrison
Dorothy Leona Parr Harrison, 90, Knightsville, passed away at 5:50 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Cloverleaf Healthcare.

She was born May 8, 1917, in Clay County, to the late Charles and Caroline Parr.

She attended Van Buren High School.

She played guitar in a band at an early age.

On July 30, 1934, she married Joseph Harrison, and together they raised nine children.

Dorothy operated the TNT restaurant, and then the Bus Stop restaurant and then bought Metz Lunch and after that Harrison and Harrison Bait Shop.

Dorothy and Joe enjoyed traveling in motor homes and belonged to the Good Sam RV Club.

Fishing in Tennessee was their favorite pastime.

She was also a member of the Brazil Church of the Nazarene, served as a High Regent in the Moose Club, and enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

They later moved to Summerton, S.C., where she worked at Goat Island restaurant until age 84 and returning to Brazil due to illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, Alberta Stevens and Brenda Godsey, a grandson, Danny Hadley, and a great-grandson, James Snyder.

Survivors include three sons, Jack Harrison and wife Marilyn, Larry Harrison and wife Emma, and Darrel Harrison and wife Carol; four daughters, Marlyn Wolf and husband Muretsel, Diana Pearce and husband Tom, Terry Clodfelter and Cathy Traverse and husband Brian; 24 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Alice Rose Sawyer, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, in the Lawson-Miller Chapel, with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will be in Calcutta Cemetery.
