The Clay County Historical Society will meet Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the museum.
Les and Ann Harding (pioneers Seth and Abigail Abernathy) will present "Field to Linen," a flax demonstration at the meeting.
The Harding's became pioneer re-enactors at the living history pioneer village at Fowler Park in 1990. Since 1992, they have done the flax demonstration each year in October as part of pioneer days.
They have demonstrated at Fleece Fair in Greencastle, Mid-West Weavers Conference in Bloomington, Ind., Fiber Focus in Lexington, Ky., Lincoln's New Salem, Springfield, Ill., the 200th wedding anniversary celebration for Abraham Lincoln's parents in Springfield, Ky., and at other events and schools in west central Indiana.
In October, they will be a part of the Farmington Historical House Plantation Fall Festival in Louisville.
They grow their own flax and process it from plant to linen cloth, with tools Les made by hand.
The public is invited to attend the meeting.
