Pancakes, parades and patriotism make up Kiwanis Day.
On Sept. 22, the Brazil Kiwanis Club will be having their annual K-Day Pancake and Sausage Breakfast and Parade.
The pancake breakfast will be held at the Clay County Fairgrounds from 6 a.m.-noon.
"It is the major fundraiser for the Kiwanis," Parade Co-Chairman and Clay County Veteran's Officer Les Walden said. "The profits from all our fundraisers go toward projects supported by the Kiwanis, such as the YMCA, 4-H, and Special Olympics, among many others."
The parade has a theme of "Honoring the 'Kids of or Veterans,'" with the line up starting at 1 p.m. at the intersection of Depot St. and National Ave. and the parade itself starting at 2 p.m.
K-Day will be kicked off with a Queen and Princess Contest, hosted by the Key Club and Builders Club, the evening of Thursday, Sept. 20.
The location of the coronation has yet to be set.
The Brazil Kiwanis was chartered in 1936, and in its 71 years has had a mission dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
"The motto for the Kiwanis is 'We Build,' and the theme is "Young Children, Priority One,'" Walden said. "Through membership with the Kiwanis, individuals can give their time and talent to support and mentor the youth of Clay County."
The Kiwanis hold meetings on the first and third Thursday's of each month from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Coffee Cup in Brazil.
"Those interested in registering for the parade can call, and the information can be taken over the phone," Walden said.
