The Indiana Retired Teacher's Association awarded former Clay Community Schools educators Paul Sinders and Pat Wilkinson certificates for community service Thursday.

The certificates were presented by Clay County Retired Teacher's Association President Odena Harper and CCRTA Community Services Chairman Carolyn Tausig.

Sinders, Clay City, and Wilkinson, Center Point, were presented the certificates for outstanding community service selected by the IRTA State Community Service Committee. The award winners statewide are listed in the Indiana Representative Assembly Annual Report from May 2007.

Tausig said the CCRTA keeps track of volunteer hours that members put in. Then, the hours are given to the state and the IRTA determines who receives certificates.
