Beginning at 9 a.m., the Fishing Fun Day at Craig Park will begin. There will be drinks provided by Pepsi, and biscuits and gravy provided by members of the City Council.
Helpers will be on hand to attach worms, remove hooks and even give casting lessons.
Children 12-under will be eligible to win door prizes.
"We have several bikes, scooters, skateboards and Pepsi is donating a Mt. Dew or Pepsi bike to give away," Board President Ruthann Jeffries said.
"We have Bratz dolls, CD players, a stereo, video games, lava lamps, cars and remote control cars to give away. We are really excited to do this for the community."
Fishing is free, and those under 17 years of age or 65-over do not need a fishing license.
"We request that children are accompanied by an adult," Jeffries said. "This is an event that the whole family can enjoy."
