CORY -- County residents should be gearing up for another festival as the Cory Apple Festival is only a couple weeks away.
The festival is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28. It will conclude after a 3 p.m. parade through Cory on Sunday, Sept. 30.
Several events have been scheduled for the three-day festival, including crafts, a flea market, display of antiques, a farm show, a toy display, yard sales, helicopter rides, and the chance to ride a mechanical bull.
A hog roast is set for 4-8 p.m. Sept. 28 and a carnival with rides will open at 5 p.m. The carnival will be open all three days.
The band Jus Play'n Jayne will also perform the first night from 5-8 p.m.
A one-mile fun run/walk has been scheduled to take place at 8:45 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, and a 5K race will take place at 9 a.m. In addition, a golf scramble at Hoosier Hills Golf Course, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
A Jonah Fish Fry is set for noon-8 p.m., Sept. 29 and a car and motorcycle show, featuring all new vehicles, will take place from noon-4 p.m.
The band The Deatons will perform from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 28 and The Country Nomads will perform from 6-8 p.m.
The final day will feature The James Family from 9:10-9:30 a.m. and community worship service at the pavilion from 9:30-10 a.m. More events are scheduled from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and a chicken noodles dinner will run from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
The James Family will perform again from 1-2:30 p.m. and a parade is scheduled for 3 p.m.
All proceeds from the three-day festival will benefit the Cory Volunteer Fire Department. There is also a $2 parking fee that will go to the fire department and a community fund.
