SULLIVAN -- The Sullivan Golden Arrows took control of the Western Indiana Conference volleyball race by upending the unbeaten Northview Knights 15-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-19, 15-13. The Knights rebounded to defeat Brown County, 25-11, 25-12, 25-20.
"Our passing was terrible and we made a lot of mental mistakes," admitted coach Scott McDonald of his team's loss to Sullivan.
The Knights got 29 assists from Lindsay Thomas against the Arrows to go with two kills and 11 digs. Kyler Clark rang up 36 digs in the match and Kaylee Clark added another 19 for the Knights. Lottie King had 17 kills with 11 blocks and a dig and Kaley Huffman contributed 10 kills with 26 digs. Ashley Hull had eight kills with three blocks and five digs. Hannah Hayes added 13 assists and Cari Laue had two kills and two blocks with Brittaney Long adding three kills and seven digs.
In the Brown County match, Hull had seven kills with two digs and Thomas had 17 assists, four kills and nine digs. Hayes contributed 11 assists and Emily Chiles added 13 digs. Katie Timberman chipped in with four digs.
Northview plays host to West Vigo tonight at 6 p.m.
