Norman E. "Skeet" Taylor Sr., 56, Saline City, died at Bloomington Hospital shortly after 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, following a heart attack.
Born May 17, 1951, in Lancaster, Penn., he was the son of Lyman Charles Taylor Sr. and Edna Lucille Whitmer Taylor.
He married Sarah Jane Pinkerton on July 13, 1969.
He worked as a general contractor and he enjoyed his work. He was also an avid golfer. He was known for his personality and sense of humor. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Poker and pool were also among his pastimes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Laura Comstock and Maryjane Maras as well as a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife Sarah Jane Taylor; four sons, Norman Eugene "Gene" Taylor Jr., Clay City, Kenny Wayne Taylor and wife Corinne, Clay City; Dean Taylor and wife April, Princeton; and Russell Allen "Rusty" Taylor and wife Leslie, Clay City; brother Lyman C. "Butch" Taylor and wife Kathy, Mooresville; sisters Myrna Young, Stinesville, and Virginia Curts and husband Bill, Leavenworth, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, as well as many nices and nephews and a large extended family.
Services will take place at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home Thursday, with his brother Lyman "Butch" Taylor officiating.
Following the service, cremation services will be scheduled.
