CLAY CITY -- The Clay City Eels came out after a three-game loss to Sullivan on Monday to drill Turkey Run, 25-17, 25-9, in the opening two games, but eventually took five-games to finish out a 24-26, 20-25, 15-8 victory.

"It's nice to have a win, but I'm definitely not satisfied," commented coach Trisha Hall. "We're in mid-season right now and should be on the upswing, but we're still on the rollercoaster."

The Knights got two aces and 14 kills from senior Angie Camp in the win against the Warriors.

"The past two games, Angie has really done a great job passing and has been getting better each game," said Hall.

Senior Mardi Steiner had a perfect day from the service line and had six aces. Both Kelly McCullough and Hannah Moore each had four aces and six kills with 12 assists apiece. Chelsea Hane contributed three aces for the victorious Eels and Megan Vansickle contributed two kills.

"We'll be changing up our rotation when we get Lynsey Higgins and Britney Glass back," commented Hall. "That should make a difference, but I'm anxious for them to rejoin the team. I've got some high hopes."

The Eels who are hoping to get healthy at the right time as the season winds down, face conference opponent Bloomfield on Thursday evening at 6 p.m.

Clay City should have no problems getting up for that game since the Cardinals eliminated the Eels from last year's sectional.

With the victory, the Eels improve to 7-4 on the season.
