Perry E. Paxton, 76, Darlington, Ind., died at 11:15 p.m., Friday, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born Aug. 21, 1931, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Anson Paxton and Mary (Hill) Paxton.
He was retired from Mid States Wire after 27 years.
He attended Roachdale schools and was a member of the National Field Trial Association and loved to hunt.
He married Mary Josephine Crabb on Feb. 19, 1956, in Brazil. She survives.
Additional survivors include four sons, Ashley Paxton and wife Donna, Crawfordsville, Charles Allan Paxton and wife Sherri, Rockville, Kevin L. Paxton and wife Kylie, Waynetown, and Perry Jason Paxton and wife Alisha, Waynetown; four daughters, Cindy Patton and husband Pud, Tangier, Becky Ambrose and husband Howard, Ladoga, Georgia Birchfield and husband John, Crawfordsville, and Sue Anna Frazee and husband Wade, Hillsboro; 21 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother George Paxton.
Services will take place at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with Rev. Vernon Dowell officiation.
