CCS set for public meetings

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

Clay County residents can voice their opinions on the proposed Clay Community School corporation renovation project Thursday evening in the Auditoria at Clay City Jr./Sr. High School.

The school board is providing the special session meeting at 6:30 p.m. for the community to voice concerns and questions.

After the input session, there will be a presentation on the project and an overview of the renovation process.

According to School Board President Terry Barr, people who would like to speak can pick up a number and sign in when they arrive at the meeting.

Comments will be limited to three minutes each.

In preparation for this meeting, last week Corporation Superintendent Dan Schroeder met with the firms chosen to investigate the project.

"Everyone needs to know that there has been a lot of information out there. There are a lot of plans, a lot of options, and (the meeting is) the best way to understand it," Barr said.

The presentation should address some questions and concerns that come up during the input session.

Barnes and Thornburg, LLC, City Securities, Schmidt Associates, and Skillman Corporation will handle the informational presentation.

The next special session being held by the school board will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, at the North Clay Middle School.
