Born May 14, 1934, in Aurora, Mo., he was the son of Lendon and Rosie Mae "Tyke" Elsie Brown.
He worked at Amax Coal Chinook Mine and Bicknell Minerals as Garage Supervisor. Later, he owned and operated Brownies Garage in Brazil. Most recently, he operated LMB Enterprises, performing contract work for Great Dane.
On July 9, 1966, he married Mary "Becky" Brown.
He was an avid NASCAR fan as well as other racing. He was a Colts, Cubs, and Pacers fan. He was a member of the Knightsville Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1955-57.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lendon Cloy Brown; brother Billy Ray Cowherd; sister, Patience Whited; mother-in-law, Maggie Collins; and daughter Kathy June.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; four sons, Jeff Brown and wife Kathy, Greenfield, Ind., Ed Brown and wife Julia, Brazil, Clay Brown and wife Barb, Greenfield, and Billy Brown, Bloomington; two daughters, Cindy Marchione and husband Rich, Anderson, Ind., and Michelle Hughes and husband Bill, Carrier Mills, Ill.; sister-in-law Debbie Campbell and husband Dick, sister-in-law Peggy Walden and husband Jim; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family, dear friends and neighbors and loving dob Maisy.
He was a loving husband and outstanding father and grandfather.
Services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Lawson Miller Chapel, with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services.
