Robert L. Hein, 82, Brazil, passed away Sept. 21, 2007, at his home.
He was born June 9, 1925, in Star City, Ind., to Lee Hein and Goldia B. Malott Hein.
He attended Crown Point High School graduating in 1943. He received degrees from Indiana Business College and American Institute of Banking. He had an accounting license in Indiana and a real estate license in Indiana & Illinois. He was self-employed for 55 years. He was also an elected official from 1962-1974.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgann F. Brooks, whom he married in a WWII military wedding in La Jolla CA., on March 14, 1945.
He was a WWII Veteran and made the D-Day invasion on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944, with the 1st Army 294 Joint Assault Signal Co.
He is survived by two sons; Douglas A. Hein of Fla., Thomas B. Hein of Rockville, two daughters, Bette Hein Brewer of Rockville and Lisa Hein Reese of Indianapolis. He also had five grandchildren, Dan, Justin, Ben, Grace & Rachel.
Graveside services will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at 11 a.m. with David Rogers officiating. Military honors will accompany the service.
