Born Nov. 22, 1913, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Maude (Frakes) Simcox.

She worked as a clerk for the U.S. Census for eight years.

She married Louis A. Evans. He survives.

Additional survivors include son, Gary Ray Evans; daughter, Patricia Kay McLean; sister, Maxine Emily and husband Eddie; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel.
