Frances Marian Murphy, 84, Brazil, passed away Sept. 27, 2007, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Marian was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Clay County to Ruth and Vestal Hadley.

She was a member of the American Legion, OES, Eagles, Red Hat Society and 3C's. She also enjoyed bingo, music, and dancing.

She was a life long resident of Brazil. In her early years, she worked as a waitress at Palmers and later, worked for more than 20 years as a custodian at Northview High School.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Terrie Cooper, son, Patrick Murphy, brothers Bobby Hadley, Vestal Hadley, and Bill Hadley, and her beloved dog, Toby.

She is survived by her son Tim and Debbie Murphy, Terre Haute, daughters; Kay Krider, Springfield, Ill. and Kathy Starr, Brazil, grandchildren; Richie and Brooke Krider, Mechanicsburg, Ill., Jonathon Murphy, Kacy Cooksey, Sadie Decker, LeeAnn and Vince Long, and Susan and Carl Sutherland, all of Brazil, and one brother, Jimmie Hadley, Ft. Meyers, FL.

Services will be held at French Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, with Bill Price officiating. Burial will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, from 11 a.m. on Saturday until the time of the service.
