Sylvia Ellen Webster

Sylvia Ellen Webster, 94, long time resident of rural Rosedale, passed away at Clay County Health Center, at 8:15 p.m., Sept. 30, 2007.

She was born March 4, 1913, in Vigo County, to Kestril and Lurenda (Hamble) Berry.

In her earlier years she worked as a house keeper for a family in Terre Haute as well as College Professor Mr. Strum. She also worked in a tea room and tomato factory in Indianapolis.

After marrying Howard Webster Jan. 16, 1938, she began her life as a homemaker and farmers wife.

She was a member of the Bridgeton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Group, and the Farm Bureau Association, Raccoon Township Home EC Club, and served as a Parke County 4-H Leader.

She is survived by her son Leslie "Web" Webster and wife Linda, Brazil, daughters Myrna Mager and husband Perry, Elaine Mager and Leonard, Terre Haute; six grandchildren: Toni Woody and husband Mike, Greg Mager and wife Jamie, Debbie Stone and husband Kevin, Robin Lawson and husband Kevin, Mike Mager and wife Karen, Jeff Webster and wife Marti; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandson.

Services for Mrs. Webster will be at Lawson- Miller Chapel in Brazil at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, with Joe Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and again Friday morning from 7:30 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
