Northview sweeps volleyball matches over Patriots, Warriors

Northview senior Ashley Hull drilled eight kills and added four blocks in a three-game sweep.
SPENCER -- The Northview volleyball team finished off their conference schedule with a victory at Owen Valley on Wednesday night, 25-17, 26-24, 25-15.

"I thought we played really well especially with the challenge that your faced with when you travel to Owen Valley," said coach Scott McDonald. "The kids did a good job of keeping their composure, especially in that second game because we were actually down 24-18. They showed a lot of heart and fight, which is good to see heading into tournament play."

The Knights got 31 assists from Lindsay Thomas and eight kills from sophomore Brittaney Long. Ashley Hull added eight kills and four blocks and senior Lottie King contributed 15 kills and seven blocks. Libero, Kyler Clark had 12 digs and Kaley Huffman had 10 kills with eight digs.

The Knights are now 24-2 overall and will travel to the North Montgomery Invitational on Saturday.

The JV team completed an unbeaten conference schedule by defeating the Patriots, 25-13, 25-11 as Ali Sharton had 18 assists and Elizabeth Emmert added nine kills. Hannah Hayes added eight kills for the Knights.

The Northview 'C' team also were winners, beating Danville at home, 25-11, 15-25, 15-13.

Stephanie McMains had nine service points while teammate Darcy Bass had a team-high 17 points. Sam Solomon had six points and seven kills and Hannah Pond had four points and three kills.

The Knights travel to Brown County for a weekend tourney.
